Spring Break Vaca is just days away! Students, PLEASE take advantage of this week off from school to get caught up on your sleep, rest your brain, refocus, & recharge yourself!!!
Did you know that movement, or even better, exercising, running, playing, and jumping helps relieve stress. Movement is a great way for your mind to get the recharge it needs to work at an optimal capacity. While you’re on your Spring Break Vaca, try taking a walk every evening with your best friend or family member to get that exercise and movement in!
You can try one of my favorite forms of relieving my stress, or what I call relaxing, belt out a song! When you sing, you naturally breathe deep. Scientists in England found that kids feel less stress once they joined a singing group. I’m not saying you have to join a band or group, you could just sing in the shower in the car works just as great!
Take breaks from those video games, smart phones,& electronics. Too much time can also cause stress. Find other ways to use your brain like playing a board game, drawing, reading, or even take photos. Each of these are great way to give your brain a break and allow some relaxation of the brain!
Again, take time to be outside in Mother Nature! Go to the park or playground, find a pond to skip rocks, or go fishing. You can even lay down on a blanket and find silly shapes in the clouds. Or have a competition of who can find the coolest looking rocks or leaves. Anything that will get you outdoors is a Great Way to rest and recharge the brain.
Most importantly, stay safe and make smart choices! We look forward to hearing what cool things you did over your break to recharge!
